Instant Pot Apple Ribs

instant pot apple ribs

Cooking ribs used to be an all-day affair. Then I found out that the Instant Pot did as good a job in 25 minutes. Just put the Instant Pot apple ribs under the broiler to caramelize and you are in for a treat.

For this recipe I did 2 racks of ribs since we had company. You can certainly do just 1 rack with this same recipe.

It can take up to 15 minutes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure so get worried. Remember to add this time to the cook time so your meal comes together, and nothing gets cold.

Use the trivet for this application so the ribs aren’t sitting in the liquid. Roll your ribs so they cook evenly.

Water can be the liquid you use to bring your Instant Pot to pressure, but I love the flavor that apple juice adds to these Instant Pot Apple Ribs. To bring your Instant Pot to pressure you always need 1 cup of liquid. One of the great things about using these mini bottles is that you only need to use 1 because it’s 8 ounces. If you aren’t an apple juice fan, then this is perfect for you.

If you aren’t familiar with cooking ribs, there is a membrane that needs to be removed. Try your best to remove it from the rib side of the rack. If you can get it started an easy way to pull it off is by using a paper towel. If you can’t pull it off just take your knife and slash the membrane. See the video below if you need a visual.
