Collard Greens

Collard greens are a timeless comfort food, especially in Southern cooking, where they have long been a staple at family dinners and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 bunches collard greens
  • 2 ham hocks, 1.5 cups ham or 6 strips of bacon
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning-add more if needed
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • water if needed

Instructions
 

  • Place the greens and meat in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add everything else and give it a good stir.
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. Taste to see how tender they are. If needed cook for longer.
  • Add more honey if you need it sweeter. Serve!
