Hibiscus Iced Tea

Hibiscus iced tea is a refreshing and vibrant beverage that is perfect for those hot summer days or anytime you need a pick-me-up. It is made by infusing dried hibiscus flowers in hot water, then chilling the mixture and serving it over ice.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/2 Cup Dried hibiscus flowers
  • 2 3" Strips orange peel
  • 1 Tbsp Orange juice
  • 2 2" Lemon peel
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 1/2" Piece ginger-peeled and sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon stick

Instructions
 

  • Combine water, hibiscus, orange peel and juice, lemon peel and juice, ginger and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat then reduce heat low. Let steep until fragrant and flavors meld, about 20 minutes.
  • Strain tea through a sieve into a pitcher or mason jar and let cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • Add sugar to the whole batch or let everyone add their own. Serve over ice.
