This cranberry orange whiskey cocktail will compliment your holiday meal. It has the perfect amount of spice. Whiskey is not my favorite, but this cocktail could change my mind.

If you don’t have unsweetened cranberry juice use cranberry juice cocktail. It’s always best to use fresh squeezed juice for the best flavor. I would splurge on fresh thyme at the grocery store to make the simple syrup. Simple syrups will keep in the fridge for a long time. I am fortunate because of my garden to have fresh thyme.

I have started to pair cocktails with food. I’m really looking forward to making this cranberry orange whiskey cocktail again with a butternut squash soup.

Cranberry Orange whiskey Cocktail

Not a whiskey fan you will become one after tasting the cranberry orange whiskey cocktail. Add this to your holiday menu.

Servings 1 cocktail

Ingredients
  

  • 1 oz cranberry juice unsweetened
  • 3 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz thyme simple syrup or simple syrup
  • 2 oz ginger ale
  • 2 thyme sprigs-garnish
  • 6 fresh cranberries-garnish

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients except ginger ale and garnish to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake for about 30 seconds until very cold.
  • Strain over fresh ice in a high ball glass.
  • Garnish with thyme and cranberries.
