Bursting with seasonal flavors of fresh cranberry and green apples. Sweet desserts are not my favorite and that is why I love this dessert so much. The cranberries and green apples cut through the sweetness.

This is the easiest dessert I have ever made. I used store bought pie crust and there is no shame in that. I usually have store bought pie crust in the freezer just in case. Just in case a fabulous dessert opportunity arises. I happen to have a tart pan but if you don’t just use a springform pan.

Fresh cranberries make their own pectin which creates this ooey gooeyness. To learn more about the science behind why cranberries make great jam Cranberry science & Why cranberries make a great jam – FoodCrumbles.

One of the best things I love about this tart is how beautiful it is. I always say I eat with my eyes first. The taste matches if not exceeds the beauty. Because fall is when cranberries are harvested that is when you will find them at the best price and availability.
