Apple Cider Pork

Apple Cider Pork an elevated version of the classic pork and apples. Slow cooked with apple butter replacing sliced apples and apple cider vinegar for a slight tang.

Start the pork by seasoning with brown sugar, salt and pepper. The gravy or sauce is made right from the start by whisking the apple cider, apple butter and flour together. It will thicken as it cooks. I used my Instant Pot Dutch Oven for the first time to make this recipe.

The Instant Pot Dutch oven is so much more than a slow cooker. It slow cooks, braises. sears/sautés and has a warm function. My hubby brought it home as a gift and I have fallen in love with it. You can also use it as a Dutch oven on the stovetop or in the oven.

This apple cider pork recipe uses apple cider but if you don’t have apple cider use apple juice. The addition of apple butter amps up the flavor of the sauce. Onion, garlic, and fresh thyme also add amazing flavor.

Anytime pork roast is on sale I grab one. So many recipes to make using pork roast also known as a pork butt or Boston butt. A couple of my favorite pork recipes are carnitas and al Pastor.
