I went to a ladies night with some friends from high school. The theme was Italian and it’s always a potluck. No one was bringing bread so of course I jumped at the chance.

Start with a loaf of Italian bread. Slice it an 1″ apart but don’t slice the bread all the way through. You will want to have a serrated knife on standby when it’s done. This way you don’t accidentally eat half the loaf.

Pick out your favorite cheese and meats to shove into the cuts in the bread. I used sliced mozzarella and provolone for the cheeses and 2 types of salami and a pepperoni for the meats.

Crazy Bread
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 3/4 cup mayo
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 5 basil leaves-chopped
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tbsp pepperoncini brine
- 1/3 cup pepperoncini-chopped
- 1/3 cup sun-dried tomato-chopped
- sliced provolone cheese
- sliced mozzarella cheese
- sliced pepperoni
- sliced salami
- olive oil
- Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Take the Italian bread and slice it at 1" intervals but don't slice it all the way thru. Set it aside on top of a piece of foil. You will use the foil to wrap the bread in before putting the bread in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350'.
- Mix the ingredients from the mayo through the pepperoncini brine together. Spread the mixture in between the slices in the bread. I only spread the dressing onto 1 side of the bread. Feel free to add as much dressing to your taste.
- Add the slices of cheese and then the slices of meats. Next add the pepperoncini and sun-dried tomatoes in between the meats and cheeses.
- Drizzle the top with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Wrap the aluminum foil tightly around the bread and place in the oven on a cookie sheet. I did spray the foil with cooking spray to keep the cheese from sticking to the foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and unwrap to make sure cheese is melted. Return back to the oven for 5-10 more minutes unwrapped to let the top get nice and crispy.
